Medical Assistant at an OB/GYN office
I've always struggled with my weight, but my journey started after the birth of my daughter almost 6 years ago. 2 years after she was born I found myself weighing the most I had ever weighed in my life. With the encouragement of my family I joined Weight Watchers and in the 6 months that I was a member I lost 26lbs. I stopped going to WW due to some life changes, but managed to keep the weight off and managed to lose a little more. In September of 2015, I stumbled upon an at home fitness program that I found on Instagram. I loved it and start working our regularly and eating better for 6 months. As what happens with most people I grew bored with the same exercises and eventually stopped working out.
This past September I saw FGF@Home and really wanted to try it, but I just wasn't ready to commit and so I didn't sign up. In November, I saw the sign-up again for the next session of FGF@Home, and with the encouragement from my boyfriend I signed up.
Three years ago was the first time I had ever heard of FGF. They had a booth at the Women's Show. I remember seeing girls participate in a plank challenge. I have been following ever since on social media, and am so excited that I can be an FGF@Home member! It’s crazy, but I actually look forward to these workouts every day!
My goal for this program was simply to get myself motivated again, and I feel like I have already done so much more than that. In the past 3 years I have done a few fun runs with my friends. I have never been a runner, but really hope that someday I can run a half marathon.
I love this program for so many reasons. I feel like it has somehow started to change the way I look at everything. I feel like my outlook on things has become more positive. Seeing everyone post in the Facebook group also helps me stay motivated. There are days that I just do not feel like working out, but I see everyone else posting about their workout and it pushes me to come home and get mine done.
Just to continue watching my progress!
My daughter! She is the reason for everything I do. I want to show/teach her that taking care of yourself should be a priority!
Right now it’s HandClap by Fitz and the Tantrums. It gets stuck in my head for hours!
Cuddled up on the couch snuggling with my daughter. No matter the day I've had as soon as she's next to me I feel calm.
Just take the leap! You’ll never know until you try…
